Overview
This 60 minute, online professional development workshop will explore the limitations of the affirmative consent model currently taught in many secondary schools throughout Australia and New Zealand, and how it fails to consider the sexual socialisation of young people, the impact of alcohol, the role of online pornography, the complexities of consent cues, and the sexual practices of young people.
Strategies to address these limitations are explored, with suggested actions for school based Relationships and Sexuality Education.
